i’m just gonna leave this right here.
in the lead up to his new album, songs to break up to, perth native producer ta-ku dropped this gem “we were in love,” which has garnered a mind boggling amount of plays in the 2 or so weeks its been live. i’d venture a guess that about 75% of those are from me because holy shit i am obsessed. breathy atmospheres get that signature ta-ku chop before looping in vocals by jhene aiko. the bridge takes a strangely 90s trance approach but melts into that sleazy R&B piano i’m so fond of. we’re told that songs to break up to will feature 8 new tracks, this one included, and will drop under hw&w in october.
